Best way to travel Tassie This was my first trip to Tasmania and my first trip on a motorbike and i'm already itching to repeat both again. Dealing with Phil was super easy and he had a wealth of knowledge about the state. The entire process of booking, deposits, payments, bike pickup and dropoff was very easy. Super friendly guy to chat to as well. Having a motorbike allowed me to not only have the freedom to travel around Tasmania but to really settle into the curvy, scenic roads in a more real, raw and connected way than I would have got from the car. I have only ridden a motorbike in Melbourne before this trip. We have nice windy roads there but what blew me away about Tasmania is how good the road condition and quality is and how friendly the drivers are. All of the roads felt safe, were signposted well and were in great states of repair. I would honestly recommend anyone visit Tasmania as it has been one of my favourite trips to date. I went in the first week of January and the weather was great. Average temperature around 25 degrees each day with only a 1/2 day of rain on a 5 day trip. If someone was hiring a motorbike in Tasmania I would 100% suggest Phil and TMTR.

See Tasmania on Motorcycles and Rent from Phil! We recently spent 10 days on motorcycles rented from Phil of Tasmanina Motorcycle Tours and Rentals and had an absolute blast. Phil was so accomodating from the booking through to the end of our travels. He communicated with me multiple times about my concerns with the height of the F800GS (I'm 5 foot 1 inch), allowed us to add handle bar risers onto the bike temporarily, gave us advise about what not to miss on our ride, picked us up and re-delivered us back to our places of lodging, and even loaned me the inner bags for the Givi Vario boxes (which I loved and went home and bought for my bike there). You can't ask for a better guy. His depot is sited close to Hobart making an easy jaunt to pick up bikes and return them and he has a lot of bikes so you are sure to find one to suit you. If you are considering a tour around Tasmania don't waste another minute thinking about it! We loved every minute of our time there. Just finished 7 day tour of Tassie with TMTR which was brilliant. Phil made it so easy for a couple of old non tech motorcylists to simply fuel up each morning & enjoy some beautiful rides on roads suggested by Phil in places we wanted to visit. Pulling into quiet, comfy accommodation at the end of a day's ride with pub or restaurant meal a short stroll away. Bikes performed beautifully. Well done Phil, we are already planning the next trip. Stop thinking about it and just do it!Our group of 4 did an 8 day tour which was awesome. Rental of 4x BMW's and accommodation included plus maps custom made for us. Phil was very accommodating and happily let us alter the hotel bookings so we could squeeze some other roads in. Bikes were great and mechanically sound.

Phil is a thorough professional. Despite having met with a devastating accident, Phil made sure everything went smoothly as planned. His son-in-law Brent took care of pickups and drop offs and felt like a family. Lots of complimentary stuff provided including a phone mount which was of great help. I have rented bikes from a lot of companies across different continents, very few give complimentary stuff and make you feel at home. We were downgraded on our bike due to the unforeseen circumstances but Phil gave us free insurance and some souvenirs as courtesy. It’s not a matter of small goodies but a matter of thought and gesture. Would highly recommend him

6 days 'behind bars': weaving through the Tarkine TMTR does it again! This is my 3rd trip around Tas with TMTR and the service just keeps getting better. Fantastic range of bikes and gear options to choose from, a dedicated space to pack / unpack and a team of people with the knowledge and experience to make it seem 'easy' - what more can we ask for?The 1250 Beemer ran like clockwork, averaging 330kms a day around the west coast roads. Tasmania. Epic. Been back a couple of weeks so its all sunk in a bit. Word to all potential visitors to Tasmnia looking for a good bike, i'm 100% recommending Phil's place. Tasmania is epic all on its own, but Phil has some great, well maintained bikes and stacks of gear (check sizes first) so you dont have to carry all your stuff halfway round the world before the event. I'll get straight to it: if you are "oohing and aahing" and wondering whether you should do this...pull the trigger even if its a few days. Phil genuinely cares about customer service. He was responsive and we made a plan to accommodate all my camping gear with a great "can do" attitude. I highly recommend him and Tassie really is a biker heaven. You will experience all the seasons so pack wet weather gear. I hope to visit again with more friends in tow.

It was a Goodie The organisation and trip suggestions were well thought out. It’s like they built the roads for motorcycle travel. Spoke on phone in JANUARY 2024 to see if possible to book one day rental as we were arriving by cruise ship. Yes he says, but it rains a lot if you want just pay the deposit , and balance on the day and that way you won't lose the lot if you can't go since you only have one day. I promptly paid $300I message a few weeks prior to arrival, in OCTOBER 2024 to check out routes we might take, how to get there from port etc, all is good so I thought.We get on cruise ship on 10th November and then the following day receive an OVERDUE payment email from TMTR. I said what's happened here I thought we were paying you cash on arrival as discussed? He says no you need to pay 7 days before the ride date. Oh ok, no worries well I click the link and find that not only $100 each for insurance (which would have been fine) but $1500 hold on card EACH bike. Which at a last minute I can't come up with on hand. If I was advised prior to leaving home would have been able to organise! Very disappointing as we looked forward to this ride all year. Won't be recommending.

Great biking experience, made seamless by TMTR I had a thoroughly enjoyable trouble-free week touring WestTasmania on a Triumph Tiger 800. TMTR were excellent and I especially appreciated the airport pick-up and drop-off, which made the whole experience seamless. This was my second trip to Tasmania and there is much more to explore - no road is boring and I love the traffic-free twisties.

Tamanian Motorcycle Hire Best Experience The attention to detail was phenomenal. We did over $2000 klm on these bikes without a hitch. they picked us up from the hotel and dropped us of they gave fantastic directions via GPS presets. Tasmania has some of the best motorcycle roads in the world. Full credit to Phil for making it so easy. And the fact that no one ran out of Talent 🙂

Phil was great to deal with and has a great fleet of bikes. Touring Tassy on a bike is one of the best things you can do! My brothers and I only had four days but we took advantage of a week of good weather and covered 1400km. Phil was great to deal with and as we were just hiring the bikes and not doing a guided trip, he gave us a few tips for here and there along the way. I look forward to heading back one day to finish off the bits we didn't have time to see!

Wow, what a fantastic experience! Just finished a 5 day self guided tour with my wife, both riding BMW700GS bikes. Right from my initial enquiries to picking up the bikes Phil was brilliant to deal with and takes care of every detail from route planning to booking accomodation. Simply turn up in Taz with your helmet and gear and off you go stress-free following the bikes gps route. Some of the most memorable riding, scenery and roads I’ve experienced. I highly recommend TMTR. Do yourself a favour and book a tour with them.

Incredible Tassie motorcycle holiday My Partner and I spoke to Phil and booked a 6 night trip with TMTR on a Triumph Tiger 800. Phil was great to deal with, he was very responsive with any questions in my emails and he tailored the trip for us with a few changes that we asked for. Even though it was last minute he managed to organise an awesome trip with great accommodation for us to stay in. The whole route is mapped out on the GPS for you to follow a long, with all the best points of interest added. He gave us many options to choose from with stops for coffee, attractions and meals. The roads in Tasmania are incredible and Phil knows it like the back of his hand. He suggested a day out the saddle at the halfway point to do the Strathgordon river cruise which was an awesome addition and needed break. If you are looking to rent a bike in Tasmania and would like to remove the hassle of organising the trip I would highly recommend speaking to Phil and booking a trip through TMTR. The bike was well maintained and fun to ride, the routes were incredible and the accommodation was clean and quiet which was perfect for us.We had an incredible time and will be keen to do another trip with TMTR in the future.Thank you Phil.

Epic motorbike touring in Tazzie. Rode some epic routes on a 5 day self guided tour. Phil makes the whole experience stress-free. He will tailor your tour to suit your requirements and has a big selection of bikes to choose from. Some can be fitted with lower seats to suit and all come with programmed gps units, panniers and are set up for touring. He even picks you up to collect your bikes and drops you off afterwards. All your accomodation can be booked by Phil too. An outstanding Tazzie business that deserves its success.

Tassie day trip Me and my partner recently hired one of Phil's Triumph Tiger 800's for a day run up the east coast to Swansea and then back down through Campbelltown, Ross ,Oatlands etc. Thoroughly enjoyed it, Awesome roads Spectacular scenery. Top notch service We completed a 9 day trip around Tasmania yesterday. The self guided tour is an excellent concept. We were 2 up on a bmw 750 / 850 gs with all the Vario luggage. The bike was ideal for Tasmania and ran faultlessly. Phil’s coordination and communication was top notch. We highly recommend Tasmania as a destination and Tmtr for a hassle free enjoyable adventure provider.

Great 5 days around Tassie John and I rented two Triumph Tiger 800s for 5 days/nights and did a circuit of the island - Hobart, Strahan, Boat Harbour, Coles Bay and back to Hobart. Everything ran smoothly, pick up and drop-off to and from the airport, bike readiness, and of course the bikes themselves. As a 1250GSA rider I wasn't quite sure what to expect of the 800, but I was very happy with its performance and suitability for the job at hand; no issues whatsoever. Phil provided the right degree of support and advice, and our overall experience was excellent - we would use him again.

Last week I rented out a GS Rallye standard suspension from Phil’s strong fleet of bikes for a week wind with a mate who was on the lower suspension version. I was recommended to Phil from another mate who had rented last year. It was a wonderful and stressfree experience from my initial contact to returning the bike. The bike was in very good condition and Phil gave guidance on routes and tips on what to look out for. Phil picked us up from the airport and dropped us back after returning the bikes. On the last day it was 27degC and we needed to freshen up before boarding our flight. Guess what, Phil had a shower with clean towels and toiletries to use. Overall I enjoyed chatting with Phil about riding and other things as well. Keep up the good work Phil. Will see you soon to explore more of Tassie

4 Tasmanian Virgins On Tour. 10-day 9-night self-guided tour of Tasmania for 4, on 2 Triumphs Tiger 800's. Brilliant! Phil runs a great business & took great care of us. The Tigers in my view are ideally suited to Tasmanian conditions. The weather was kind to us, the roads are excellent for motorcycling & so much more traffic free compared to Brisbane where I live, the food is excellent, particularly the seafood, the people are friendly & engaging & the public dunnies are generally clean & well maintained. Highlights: The Gorden Dam Road, Stanley & Marlies cafe, the Gordon River cruise & Sara Island & Port Arthur. Would I return? YES! Would I make use of Phil's business again? Yes! I have nothing but positive things to say about my experience using TMTR's services. The team here are very accommodating, even to work with you on the logistics of drop off and pick up, fortunately in my case I had local friends helping me out but had that not been the case Phil was willing to pick me up or organise bike pick up from the airport. The bike itself was a dream to ride and extremely well maintained. I will be using their services again and highly recommend using them to anyone reading!

Only Positives We've rented with TMTR previously and are yet to have something bad to write about, even the weather was perfect during our October 2023 5-day clockwise lap. TMTR have a large range of bikes, perfectly set up with luggage and a Garmin XT GPS. For this experience we settled for a BMW R1250GS Rally each, one low suspension for my low suspension wife and a normal one for me. The trip started well with Phil picking us up from our hotel, we could leave all our non-riding stuff at TMTR, and ended with Phil dropping us off at the airport. We've ridden a lot of the world and Tassie is up there as our favourite place; the riding and the scenery and the accommodation, food, and beverages are simply the best. TMTR allows us to get amongst it without shipping our bikes over, can't thank them enough.

10 Day Self Guided Tour 7 of us from New Zealand hired 5 bikes from Phil for a 10 day self guided tour of Tasmania. From our first contact in August 2022 to determine when 5 suitable bikes would be available, until our drop off at our Hobart accommodation the whole process was easy and straight forward. Phil asked us some questions to determine our likes and dislikes and he ended up providing us with a really detailed printed itinerary offering plenty of dining and attractions advice along with important stuff like “fuel up here”. Alongside the printed itinerary was a daily map and each bike had a GPS unit preprogrammed with the attractions and our each nights stays. We left the accommodation up to Phil to book and they were all of a high standard, and close to, or incorporating a restaurant. Any questions or problems we had, Phil was only a phone call away to help us out. Tasmania has some of the best motorcycling roads I have ridden on and even the rain couldn’t reduce the smiles we all had. Can’t say enough about how much we all enjoyed riding in Tasmania. The Ideal Bucket List Bike Ride. For me, this was a Bucket List trip.Phil picked us up from our hotel in Hobart and it was off to his place for the mandatory paperwork and also a review of his recommended route and how the GPS works. The GPS made it so easy.On the bikes for the start of 5 days on the road. Saw some amazing scenery, so many contrasts across the island.Two fine days, and three half wet/dry. As good as you would expect.I was having some trouble with the clutch lever adjustment but Phil had a contact in Launceston who sorted it out in a minute and I was happy again.Accommodation was between amazing and OK, depending what was available in that town.Had a great time, price was reasonable, would recommend it to anyone.

Solo Self guided tour I Hired a Beautiful BMW 1250 GSA from Phil I was flying Solo and had no real plans. Phil showed me some great places on his large wall map and also gave me a 5 day self guided tour map. I got instructions on how to operate all the great features on the bike. Like heated grips and seat 🙂 . I rode 1631km in 4 days. and saw so much. I visited chocolate factory's, winery's, cheese places, distillery's and anywhere else that I saw as i rode along that caught my eye. The bike was amazing to ride and Phil was super easy to deal with.
